Today was the day when Rochester Institute of Technology had its first Video Game Showcase. It happened after the enormous event known as Imagine RIT Innovation festival. The showcase is an event to show off student work that they have done over the years. Submissions ranged from 2nd year students to graduate projects. I show cased a puzzle game created in my computer science 2 class during my first year at RIT. The player moves a block through a maze to a switch which unlocks the door to the next level. The second half of the game incorporates enemies where if you let your block be touched by them, you lose the level. There are 10 levels in all and was created over a span of 2 weeks using a simple base code. I would say this was a successful first game showcase for us. I hope that it would be even better next year and maybe I will show off Resonance then.
