Web 360 Experience

I lead a team of three through a successful development and deployment of a 360 web experience to promote the launch of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets over a two month period. Our team worked closely with the creative director at STX and Google to ensure their vision of the virtual Valerian art gallery game to life. I utilized JIRA to track development tasks with Agile development methodologies along with Google Docs to track assets needed. I was also in charged of finding and booking an audio recording studio to facilitate the voice over sessions for our talent who were recording unique lines for the website.

The World of Valerian is a 360 website where users can navigate through four different art galleries displaying concept art developed for the film. The different areas the user can navigate to art Worlds, Spaceships, Aliens and Big Market. We had Elizabeth Debicki record unique lines for the site introduction. For select art pieces, we had MatPat, the creator of The Film Theorists, narrate lines explaining their origins. He also recorded a unique video for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets which users can also view within this gallery.

The site unitize particle and paralaxing effects to give a sense of depth to the space. It also leveraged music composed for the film to add to the ambience of the space. If the user has access to a Google Cardboard, they can also view and navigate the website through the use of that device.
